I was shocked when Barack Obama won the Presidential elections because it seemed like the Republicans were going to do everything that they could in order to prevent that from happening. I am extremely proud of Barack for keeping his integrity throughout the whole election. He stayed true to the issues at hand during the debate and ignored the snide remarks made by McCain. In fact, the Republicans circulated a YouTube video that asked viewers if Barack was the anti- Christ. This was extremely childish and it shows how low some Republicans and the McCain campaign will stoop to secure their place in the white house. One of the main arguments that McCain emphasized, is the opinion that Barack does not have enough experience in the white house. The truth is that America needs someone whom they can identify with. Barack lives a middle class lifestyle. He lives in a middle class neighborhood, he only has one car, and he only has one house. In contrast, McCain has seven houses and thirteen cars. It is apparent that McCain has a lot more money than the average citizen in America. Therefore, the policies that McCain would have implemented, if he was elected, would have catered to the upper class citizens. Some people think Obama is a Messiah, others think he is the anti-Christ. I believe that he is a hero because he is a symbol of hope. He shows people, especially people of color,that anything can be accomplished if you just reach for the stars.
